Scott Sirmans

Media Pastor

I serve as the Media Pastor of Southside Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church. I am a life long member of Southside.

​

I was licensed to the ministry in July of 2007 and began full time ministry at Southside later that year continuing the existing radio program and developing a television program on WALB NBC 10 as well as an extensive internet video ministry. In August of 2014, I was ordained as a Pastor by Southside Baptist Church. 

​

I have been married to my beautiful wife Angela since October 2007. In 2019 we adopted 15 year old Hunter Smith and now live on our farm with lots of animals in Teeterville. 

Kyle Sirmans

Campus Pastor

I have served as the Campus Pastor at Southside Baptist Church since March 2018. Not only do I handle day to day operations, but I also work with the ministry leaders to help our church fulfill its purpose “To lead lost people and apathetic Christians into a personal and spirit-filled relationship with Jesus Christ, here and around the World”.

I am a graduate of Toccoa Falls College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Ministry Leadership and a minor in counseling.  I was ordained into the ministry in January 2019.

My wife DeNann is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and has her Masters of Science as a Nurse Practitioner. We have been married since December of 2009. We have two biological children, Slaten and Lainey, and three more bonus kids we love like our own. 

Lissa Hendley

Children's Ministry Director 

Hi! I am Lissa Hendley. I serve as the Children's Ministry Director and direct Bright Beginnings Preschool.

My husband Derek and I have been married for 10 years. We have two boys, Cody and Owen. We have called Southside our home for the past 8 years. 

Pastor Austin DeLoach Jr.

Pastor

I have served as pastor of Southside Baptist Church, in Lakeland since 1996. I am a1995 graduate of Liberty University and in 1998 I received the Eagle Award from Liberty, a distinguished award given to chosen alumni.

I am also the author of "From Cheese Carrier to Champion", based on the story of David and Goliath, and "Come; The One Word from God That Can Change Your Life."

I am a walking testimony of what can happen when a person fully surrenders to Jesus Christ. In high school, I graduated at the bottom of my class; in college I failed four times. At the end of my freshman year in college, I had a 0.7 GPA and considered myself hopeless. Then, one night, my life changed. My story of transformation from feeling hopeless to being passionate about serving Christ is captured in my book, From Cheese Carrier to Champion. I pray my story offers hope to those who have none.

I currently pastor Cornerstone Baptist Church in Homerville GA as a dual campus ministry in partnership with Southside Baptist in Lakeland.

I have been married to my beautiful wife Jennifer for over 20 years and we  have three daughters, Alora Gail, KenLee and Dempsey Anna.

We love serving and worshiping with our families in Lakeland and Homerville! 

Rick Pearson

Youth Pastor

Over the past 25 years I have served multiple times as: Interim Pastor, Associate Pastor, Youth Pastor, Deacon, and have filled several other offices in the local church.

Licensed and then ordained into the ministry in 2002, I know in my heart my true calling is Youth Ministry. I have a great passion and concern for teens and  ministering to them brings me joy. I am very grateful to have Mrs. Angie serve so faithfully with me in the ministry throughout the years. I feel very blessed and honored to have served at Southside over the past four years.

We have four children and seven grandchildren, who we love dearly. My life verse is Philippians 1:6 :Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will be faithful to complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
